I hired McCombs to replace a mini split in my sunroom. Darryl came out to provide a quote and based on my experience with the original mini split and how warm that room can get given the sun exposure on that side of the house we decided to install a larger system. Since replacements aren’t always “plug and play” he climbed up in the attic to put eyes on the routing of the electrical supply and line set. This sort of thoroughness and attention to detail helped prevent any surprises from arising on the day of the install.

On the day of the install Darryl, Cody, and Dominic showed up and worked throughout the morning in the rain and provided a clean installation that was exactly as expected. During the initial start-up it the mini split was not blowing cold air and the pressures on the condenser were not reading correctly. After some troubleshooting they determined the condenser had a manufacturer's defect right out of the box. Darryl then drove to their supplier warehouse without the defective condenser and returned within the hour with a new one. If this was a central A/C install I would have expected that level of urgency to just swap it and figure out the rest later. Since this installation wasn’t an emergency and wasn’t critical to being able to occupy my home they could have spent hours on the phone with the manufacturer’s technical support trying to figure out the issue or left it for another day.

Once the condenser was swapped out the A/C began blowing cold air and has kept the sunroom as comfortable as the rest of the house through some of the hottest days of the summer. I am thoroughly happy with the mini split and the work performed and once the warranty expires on my central A/C I will use McCombs to service it as well.

We have used McCombs for the last 25 years. They are efficient & affordable, timely & knowledgeable. They weren't able to get a new drum for us for 2 months but they installed one from a local bakery so that we wouldn't be without AC, at no extra charge. Definitely recommend them for service calls and AC installs.

For personal residents, they are top-notch. Always trying to get you serviced that day or early am the next if they can. Parts, if not special, can generally be had the same day and have you back up and running in the most efficient way possible.
